Nima Sanctuary
Short Facts
- Romania first farm sanctuary
- Founded in October 15th 2018
- Currently home to +140 former “farmed” animals, mostly cows (31) and pigs (25)
- Located in Bradulet, Arges, at the bottom of Fagaras Mountains
- Comprises of 4 locations on 15 ha, containing 27 separate living areas for 11 species and several pastures (opened to visits and volunteers all year round – small groups only, check the F.A.Q. page)
- Named after one of its first residents, Nima the cow, who suffered a serious injury (a fractured leg) before being rescued from a dairy farm, undergoing Romania’s first specialized surgery for her species and finally founding Nima Sanctuary, together with her rescuer, Doina Badea (they also share the same birth date!)
